Remeo’s operations are driven by sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of our business. We reduce carbon emissions and conserve natural resources by processing waste into secondary raw materials for industry and construction.

For us, sustainability is both long-term development work and part of our everyday operations. We have created a sustainability program that defines what responsibility means to us. The program identifies seven key themes that cover environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and good governance. Each theme includes long-term commitments that guide our development.

We call it a sustainability program because it describes how we integrate responsibility into our business. Through continuous improvement, monitoring, and reporting, we ensure that we are moving in the right direction and providing increasingly sustainable solutions.

Environmental resposibility

We reduce Finland’s carbon emissions by increasing the recycling rate

We encourage waste reduction and offer innovative solutions for turning waste into high-quality recycled raw materials. Our recycling rate is the best in the industry, as only completely non-recyclable waste is directed to energy production. We aim for net-positive operations, and our carbon handprint is the largest in the material processing sector in Finland. We regularly renew our fleet and driving practices to reduce emissions.

We carefully select our partners and operate according to jointly agreed rules – we do not tolerate misconduct. We ensure that our roles and processes fully comply with legal requirements. We also understand our customers’ obligations and provide support in meeting them.

Our facility areas and units must be safe for everyone – not just for our own personnel.

Our long-term operations are certified

Our operations are regularly audited, and we have a long history of developing certified practices. The most important certifications granted to us include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ETJ+, the first of which we obtained as early as 2010.
